Totowa’s community celebration brought together residents for a day filled with fun activities, music, and local vendors. Thank you to the Borough of Totowa and the Totowa Board of Recreation for always including us in such a meaningful celebration of togetherness and community!

 

NJFCU Awards Scholarship

to Eastwick College Student

The Credit Union has been partnering with Eastwick College on multiple through multiple on-campus initiatives. During the spring season, students had the chance to learn about establishing credit, managing student loans, making smart financial decisions and engaging in long-term financial planning. 

These sessions have been valuable in helping students gain practical tools to build stronger financial habits ans prepare for their future success.

In July of 2026, Student Joshua Zavala was awarded an NJFCU scholarship award for his outstanding academic achievements at Eastwick College.

We’re proud of you, Joshua and look forward to following your success in the future!

 

Career Day at the Rev. Dr. Frank Napier Jr. School of Technology in Paterson
NJFCU had a great time engaging with 4th to 8th graders through an interactive presentation on financial literacy, banking, and career possibilities. We’re grateful to continue building our partnership with the Paterson Board of Education and inspired by their commitment to preparing students not just for academic success, but for life!

 

Desfile Dominicano de New Jersey: A Tribute to Mother’s Celebration

A perfect day for tea time, elegant fashion, and beautiful hats—all in celebration of mothers. NJFCU enjoyed attending this special celebration, honoring Dominican Mother’s Day. The event displayed the power of community and paid tribute to the love and strength of mothers.

CrossState Connect Annual Convention
Dhana Reynoso Miele, Director of Business Development, had the honor of representing NJFCU at the 2026 CrossState Connect Annual Convention at Harrah’s Resort in Atlantic City, NJ. Dhana joined a group of dynamic industry leaders as a panel speaker for the Special Collaboration Award: Expanding Financial Inclusion and Empowerment, contributing valuable insights on the importance of community-driven impact.

From music and food tastings to connecting with local families and businesses, Community Fest 2026, hosted by Superfresh Supermarket located on US Highway 46 in Woodland Park, was a fantastic day in the community.

William Paterson Foundation’s
Annual Legacy Awards Gala
Proud to support student success through education and scholarship opportunities. NJFCU’s President & CEO, Richard Garcia, attended the William Paterson Foundation’s Annual Legacy Awards Gala—an evening dedicated to giving back and investing in students’ futures. Celebrating 35 years of the Legacy Awards, the night brought together community leaders to honor individuals and organizations making a meaningful impact.

Annual Family Night Dinner
Focused on education, community, and empowerment. President Wafaa Saad was honored for her outstanding leadership and unwavering dedication to supporting women and families in the City of Paterson and across the nation.

 

Reality Fair

NJFCU participated in a Reality Fair at Abundant Life Academy. We work one‑on‑one with high school and college students to promote financial well‑being through programs and events that benefit both students and educators. 

The grand opening of “The Waterfront”
—one of NJFCU’s student-run branches, located right on the Weehawken High School campus. This initiative began several years ago through a partnership with a high school in Paterson, New Jersey. Since then, we’ve had the pleasure of expanding into a new community, offering even more students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in banking and finance.

 

Mi Casa Puebla Visit 
The NJFCU team is proud to connect with members of Mi Casa Puebla, educating and empowering individuals through financial literacy resources and guidance. By sharing the credit union mission and the value of financial wellness, we are working together to build stronger, more financially secure communities.

 

Financial Literacy Courses
with MSU’s Upward Bound Program

Montclair State University’s Upward Bound Program has allowed NJFCU to collaborate and host several financial literacy courses for students. The students have been learning about the significance of credit scores and budgeting as they transition to adulthood and prepare for college.

Borough of Totowa’s Library Foundation
“Flavors of the World” Event
Our NJFCU team had the pleasure of supporting the Borough of Totowa’s Library Foundation during the “Flavors of the World” event. We gathered to mix and mingle with the Totowa community and local professionals while enjoying delicious dishes from various cultures around the globe.

Our Business Development team enjoyed networking with and educating local business owners and professionals about NJFCU’s Business Products and Services. Supporting small businesses and strengthening our community is at the heart of what we do!

 

Eastwick College Visit 

This year, NJFCU is partnering with Eastwick College to offer students, faculty, and staff valuable credit union benefits and financial services designed for students and educators. We enjoy connecting with the Eastwick College community and advocating for financial literacy at colleges and universities across Northern New Jersey.

Black Family Wellness Expo Event 
NJFCU had the pleasure of joining the Black Family Wellness Expo, hosted by Passaic County -NJ- Chapter of The Links, Incorporated. Our community outreach team had the best time connecting with the wonderful people of Paterson, sharing our services, and networking with everyone.
