One movement, many homes

The cooperative credit movement was built on a simple idea: people pooling resources to serve one another, not shareholders. Our alliances carry that idea across borders. Through formal Memoranda of Understanding, North Jersey Federal Credit Union and each partner cooperativa commit to sharing knowledge, supporting members who move between our communities, and strengthening the financial well-being of families on both ends of the relationship.

Memorandum of Understanding

What our alliances mean, in practice

Each alliance is formalized through a signed Memorandum of Understanding between North Jersey Federal Credit Union and the partner organization. These agreements are not symbolic — they establish concrete channels of cooperation built on the same principles that define the credit union movement worldwide: member ownership, democratic governance, and mutual aid across borders.

01

Member Continuity

Supporting members and their families as they move between North Jersey and partner communities, so financial relationships don’t have to start over.

02

Knowledge & Technical Exchange

Sharing expertise in governance, technology, risk management, and financial education across the network of allied cooperativas.

03

Shared Cooperative Values

Reinforcing the founding cooperative principles — open membership, democratic control, and concern for community — across every partner relationship.
